How long is my “Botox” supposed to last?Fantastic question! The answer is not that simple. There are many factors that are involved in “Botox” duration. There is type of tox used, metabolism (how fast your body metabolizes), amount of tox, activity level, area being treated, skill level of your injector, size/depth/strength of your wrinkles, and frequency of “Botox” treatments. All of these play a factor in how long the effects your “Botox” will last and how much do you need to achieve the results you desire. As a baseline, the average duration of “Botox” to be effective is 3 months. “Botox” peaks in activity 2-3 weeks after injections are completed. From peak time of action, it is metabolizing (wearing off) and you will at some point over the average 3 month span slowly see movement (and wrinkles) appear. At Freya Aesthetics and Beauty, we have trained extensively in proper injection techniques and continue learning from injectors around the world. Every client gets their own personal treatment plan prior to receiving their services for the best outcomes.

Are all dermal fillers the same?Filler is filler right? Absolutely not!! A common question/comment we hear for dermal filler is trying to match what a friend might have received. Although your friend may have had satisfactory results with that type of dermal filler, is it the correct dermal filler that would work for you? The majority of the dermal fillers used in medical aesthetics across the world are made using hyaluronic acid as the base ingredient. What is hyaluronic acid? Hyaluronic acid is a long, unbranched polysaccharide composed of repeating disaccharides of D-glucuronic and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (Pereira et al. 2020). It is synthesized naturally in your body where it degrades and naturally replenishes for cellular structure and function. Breaking that down, it is an acid that your body already produces and is involved in every second of your life. Pretty neat! There are multiple different variations of dermal filler available that are designed for specific locations and purposes. At Freya Aesthetics and Beauty, we offer multiple options for dermal filler. Selection of the appropriate dermal filler is done best by your provider and injector after a consultation has been performed. During your consultation, we customize a treatment plan for you specific to your requests. We encourage you to ask questions to obtain the level of comfort prior to proceeding with any procedure. How long does dermal filler last?Duration of dermal filler depends on type of filler and location of filler. Example: Cheek filler is rated to last greater than 1 year because it is a more supportive filler. Lip filler is rated average 9 months because it is a less supportive filler because you want it to be able to move when you speak, drink, or eat.

Will I bruise? And if so, how long will that last? There is a high chance of bruising with dermal filler. It will last as long as any other bruise that you would have and varies based on how fast you heal from a bruise.
